What is Nomex?
Nomex is a technical fabric created by DuPont and is one of the most expensive flame retardant materials used by rigg & refinery workers. The fire brigade and racing drivers have many parts of clothing made from Nomex. There is a very convincing video on Youtube that shows how effective Nomex is.Nomex is also inherently flame retardant. This means the garment will remain flame retardant for the life of the garment and will not wash out like treated cotton.Nomex comfort is lighter weight than cotton based garments and is more comfortable to wear.
